Apple Strudel






Ingredients





1 no Apple





20 gm Raisins





30 gm Cashew nuts





1/2 tsp lemon rind





60 gm Sugar





40 gm Butter





30 gm Bread crumbs





Cinnamon powder - a pinch





10 gm Icing powder ( for Dusting)





Method





  1. Peel the apple and make it chopped
  2. Mix raisins, cashew nuts sugar, bread crumbs, cinnamon powder and lemon rind then keep it aside
  3. Prepare the philo dough and stretch it over the dusted linen cloth
  4. Brush the melted butter and sprinkle the filling on top
  5. roll it like swiss roll and seal the edge with the egg
  6. Cut into desired sizes
  7. Place it on a cleaned baking tray and brush with egg white
  8. Bake it at 200 c for 20 mins. cool it and dusting with powdered sugar on top




Philo dough





Ingredients





200 gm flour





1/4 tsp Salt





14 gm Fat





water - to make dough





1/2 no Egg





Method





  1. Mix the flour with salt
  2. beat the egg with melted butter and water
  3. Mix the flour with egg mixture then make a smooth dough
  4. Rest for 1 hour
  5. Roll the dough into thin sheet
  6. Sprinkle the desired filling and roll like a swiss roll
