Ingredients
1/2 kg chicken
1 inch Cinnamon
1 tbsp hot milk
3 tbsp oil
1 no chopped onion
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
2 no bay leaves
50 gm ( 1 cup ) coconut paste
1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
3 tbsp curd
Salt - to taste
3 tbsp Cream
For Paste
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp Poppy seeds
2 nos cardamom
3 nos cloves
4 nos Red chillies
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp Grated coconut
Method
- Clean and cut the chicken
- Take out the milk from coconut paste
- Grind all the ingredients from cumin, cinnamon to a fine paste
- Soak the saffron into hot milk
- Heat oil and fry the onions till it is golden brown
- Add the ginger garlic paste and fry for a couple of mins
- Add the paste, salt and bay leaves. let it simmer for 5 mins
- Add the chicken pieces and 1/2 cup of water and continue cooking for 15 mins over low heat
- When the chicken is almost cooked then add the coconut milk, greenchillies, coriander leaves, and curd
- cook till the chicken is tender
- Add the cream and saffron then simmer it for 2 mins
