Tomato Shorba /Tamatar ka shorba/Indian style Tomato soup


Ingredients

500gm Tomatoes

6 nos cloves

8 nos Peppercorn

2 nos Bay leaves

1/2 inch Cinnamon

3 gm Kasoori methi

salt - to taste

5 gm chilli powder

10 gm Ginger

5 gm Garlic

Mint leaves - few

1 tbsp Coriander leaves

1/4 tsp Sugar

1 piece Lime

Method

  1. clean and cut the tomatoes and place with all the ingredients, ecpext lime juice and half the coriander leaves in the heavy bottomed pan with sufficient water
  2. Bring to boil and simmer for about an hour
  3. Whisk with a whisker to crush the tomatoes
  4. When the stock little thick, remove from fire and strain through a muslin cloth
  5. Adjust seasoning and add the lime juice
  6. serve piping hot, garnished with chopped green coriander leaves
