Moong Dal Halwa


Ingredients





400 gm Moong dal





650 gm Ghee





1 kg Sugar





50 gm Cashew nut





25 gm Almonds





5 gm Cardamom





200 gm khoya ( mawa )





25 gm Raisins





1 sheet Silver paper





Method





  1. Soak the dal overnight, drain and grind to paste without using water
  2. Put clean kadai to medium heat, fry the dal paste for 15-20 minutes stirring constantly so that the dal should not stick to the kadai
  3. Melt ghee in a separate bowl and add slowly to the dal stirring constantly till the dal is cooked
  4. Add sugar and cook for another 5 mins
  5. When the halwa has attained golden colour and grated khoya and mix well
  6. Add chopped nuts and raisins and garnish with silver paper
  7. serve hot
