Broken wheat Rawa / wheat rawa/ sapattu rawa - step by step procedure with pictures by Ve chef

 Ingredients

1. Broken Wheat - 1/2 kg

2. Red Gram ( Thur Dhal ) - 100 gm ( 1 cup)

3. Onion - 2 nos

4. Crushed Garlic - 15 cloves

5. Tomatoes  - 4 nos

6.Red chillies  - 5 nos

7. salt  - 1 tbsp ( to taste )

8. Curry powder / Mutton Masala    -  1 tbsp

9. Chilli powder   - 1/2 tbsp

10. Turmeric Powder -  1 tsp

11. Oil  - 30 ml

12. Curry leaves   - 2 spring

13. Mustard seeds   -    1 tbsp 


 Method

1. Prepare the ingredients for the preparation 

 

 

2. Heat the oil in the Pressure cooker, add the mustard seeds leave to crack 


3. Add the crushed garlic, redchillies, curry leaves then add the sliced onion saute it well till light            brown colour 

 

 

4. Add the tomatoes and salt saute it well, make it as soft condition 


5. Now the time to add the masalas like chilli powder, turmeric, Curry powder / mutton masala then saute it well

6. Pour the water for ( 1 cup rice) 1 : 2 1/2 cups of water 


7. Add the soaked Broken wheat with dhal into the mixture 


8. Close the lid and leave it for 3 whistle after that rest for 10 min then remove the lid and mix it well

9. It is better to  served with pickle or curd
